Billy Bob Thornton sets the record straight
Fantasy vs.Reality...Preach it Billy Bob!
Albeit, some of this is antidotal…but as yet we have no cure. We like to think we do. Billy Bob’s monologue will surely open peoples eyes. When I first saw it watching the new series “Landman”, I told my it was a must see. Just for his speech.
A few years ago, i worked in the construction inspection business and spent alot of time in rural America. When I first saw several windmills being erected on a bluff above a small town, I was curious. I asked executives I knew from a local electric co-op about them. They just laughed and shrugged….”they’re not going to help”.
I found out that we will never come out on the right side of costs or even efficiency. I Investigated the costs of solar panels on my roof…same thing. It would need to be replaced before I ever recouped the cost. This doesn’t count the ‘carbon footprint’ just to manufacture it.
Then, there’s the Prius. The environmental impact of that battery would floor even the most ardent owner. Construction workers and engineers alike, all know, the absurdity of the precieved and imaginary benefits. I guess it makes people feel better…but it doesn’t help the environment.
Finally, the Landman preaches the truth…a must listen.
And, the band plays on!

Excerpt: American society has witnessed a noticeable rise in tribalism. And, it’s not just a political phenomenon but has permeated all aspects of cultural, social, and academic life. Tribalism, in this context, refers to the strong identification with and loyalty to a particular group, often to the exclusion of other views.Â
As people increasingly divide themselves along ideological, cultural, racial, and even geographical lines, the sense of a shared national identity has weakened, giving rise to a more fragmented society.Â
