Holding Nothing Back …

Sin of Eli is strikingly similar to the Vatican

Home » Sin of Eli is strikingly similar to the Vatican

The sin of Eli is he did not stop the scandal occurring before the people of Israel. We’ll see there are eerie similarities today!

It was gut wrenching to be hit with the homosexual/pedophile crisis within the Church again. We were devastated to learn it wasn’t dealt with the first time. And, no one seems to know how much of the scandal is old. And, how much is new. Does it really matter? No!

The Vatican Today

When we have conversations with people outside of the Church, we find them absolutely furious. And, they don’t hold anything back. But, we’re furious too. I find it hard not to be defensive about it. And, if you’re like me, you’ve considered leaving. But, the Church didn’t do this. Sin did. And, fallen men. There is no excuse.

These men are trying to change the Church itself. We are to question whether sin is ACTUALLY sin anymore. Seemingly, the Vatican just wash their hands of it. Good thinking, just like Eli did. The whole Church can see it all. The whole world can see it too. It’s a case of the emperor has no clothes. I guess in their bubble. But, we know it is still sin. Here’s the BIGGEST problem. So does God.

I recently heard this quote and I’m not sure where it was…”The consequences of sin eventually ends up on one’s own doorstep.” When we become embroiled in sin, we make excuses, we minimize it, we justify it, we point fingers, and we stick our heads in the sand. But, that’s not the biggest problem in the Vatican today. Eli is. Precedent is.

Both Barrels Media began working on the following video when the scandal first erupted. We had issues with getting permission for a background song and Fair Use. So we eventually shelved it. Now, Both Barrels Media is back on the hunt. And, watch for it below. They just don’t get it.

The Sin Of Eli

Eli was the Chief Priest and Judge over Israel. And, he was also quite pious. However, Eli’s sight had grown dim and his sons became perverse. Shockingly, his sons didn’t respect God. And, they would be heirs to the priestly office. However, in front of the entire nation, they disgraced their priestly calling and scandalized the people of Israel to such an extent that they began to abhor the offering of the Lord.

Eli only warned his sons of their shameful ways and did not punish them. Their deeds were evil. But, Eli never rebuked them, either as their father or as judge of Israel. His sons had begun ignoring him and disregarded his weak protest. Their hearts had grown cold and they no longer heeded their father’s feelings. This was the sin of Eli. His sons would soon be killed and the Ark of the Covenant was lost in battle. At such a disgrace, Eli also fell and died.

There is a strikingly similarity today. Both the Vatican today and the sin of Eli witnessed by all of God’s chosen people. Pray for the Church.

The Just Shall Live by Faith

“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed through faith for faith; as it is written, “The one who is righteous will live by faith.” For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of those who by their wickedness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.

God’s Wrath on Unrighteousness

Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So, they are without excuse; for though they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling a mortal human being or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles.

Therefore, God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason, God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, and in the same way also the men, giving up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another.

Ultimately The Men received Penalty

Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind and to things that should not be done. They were filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, covetousness, malice.

{They became]Full of envy, and murder, strife, deceit, and craftiness, they are gossips, slanderers, and God-haters, insolent, haughty, and boastful, inventors of evil, and rebellious toward parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, and ruthless. They know God’s decree, that those who practice such things deserve to die—yet they not only do them but even applaud others who practice them.”
